i wget'd from here: http://www.mongodb.org/downloads

i updated Mongo 2.0 to 2.4 i switched its directory and data/db location to /superduperuser

wget http://fastdl.mongodb.org/linux/mongodb-linux-x86_64-2.4.6.tgz

tar xf mongodb-linux-x8664-2.4.6.tgz -C $HOME/opt to unpack the package, and it will be unpacked to $HOME/opt/mongodb-osx-x8664-2.0.2
