i just upgraded mongo i went into the VPS http://askubuntu.com/questions/147135/how-can-i-uninstall-mongodb-and-reinstall-the-latest-version i had to update my key-ring: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/75807/no-public-key-available-on-apt-get-update i had to upate the /etc/p.list: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-debian/ i wget'd from here: http://www.mongodb.org/downloads i updated Mongo 2.0 to 2.4 i switched its directory and data/db location to /superduperuser wget http://fastdl.mongodb.org/linux/mongodb-linux-x86_64-2.4.6.tgz tar xf mongodb-linux-x86_64-2.4.6.tgz -C $HOME/opt to unpack the package, and it will be unpacked to $HOME/opt/mongodb-osx-x86_64-2.0.2
