Are there studies regarding transaction costs for doing business locally, in state, in country, and overseas? I'd be interested to know:

how are transaction costs calculated within organizations? how are transaction costs calculated between organizations? are there opportunities for public agencies to reduce transaction costs? if so, how?

What is the right balance in a city? More holistically, what is the right concentration (and density) of people, businesses, municipalities, and public space? There is not only 1 right answer, but certain things that work better than others. After watching the Greeks movie. What is currently restricted to the "Elite"? Money? Information?
