C-Span is sorta like the 1980's version of PBS for Government.
I'd like to see an ESPN for Government. Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert do well to shine lights on political follies in the U.S. however, such coverage seems to be highly D.C. centric.
In today's world, citizens would benefit from an ESPN for Government. Leveraging technology, it would be possible to provide personalized information, tailored to jurisdictional boundaries.
As a fan may say "just show me the triple plays".
As a citizen, I might ask, just show me "high speed rail discussions".
This is a huge opportunity for governments to gather feedback and solutions to problems.
A real issue, rarely identified is that government is often not interested in solutions. There are bureaucratic incentives to maintain status quo and not necessarily innovate.
