Save Hemlock School
The purpose of this site is to focus the efforts of citizens to save Hemlock School in Vacaville, CA.
Due to budget cuts, the Vacaville School Board is faced with the decision of closing school in effort to reduce expenditures. Many options have been discussed, but Hemlock School is a likely candidate for school closure.
What would become of Hemlock School, if it closed? The school buildings on Hemlock St? The empty buildings between Orchard and Eldridge Avenues? Hemlock is a school. It was my school, as it was to so many. Additionally, its a foundation elementary school in a lovely neighborhood in North Vacaville - 95688.
Unfortunately, the budget issues are real. Shrinking tax revenues and unsustainable government programs lead to situations like this, which are very common (insert figure). Is it necessary to close Hemlock? Is it a valuable use of public funds?
