I'm a fan of agile practice. Putting user value at the center of the software development process is an enabling focus. Yet, as agile scales in a large business, agile can become more like "Agile", and the spirit leaves only the letter remaining; the mechanics persist, and Agile is done onto the organization. #### Some observations Internal teams want iterations to go very fast. Contracting teams are much more cautious about iterations, due to risk and contract parameters and constraints. A way forward? Foster code ownership across multiple people. Having multiple developers run an application has a tendency to encourage re-use and simple code patterns (generally: best-practices).
